What is Mine Theft Auto: Vice City?
A Minecraft Java Edition Cops & Robbers server set in Vice City. Real players are the content: the cop chasing you is a person, and so is the criminal you're chasing. Pick a class, earn cash, buy a house, play the stock market, and try to stay one step ahead of the law.
Is this an official GTA server?
No. It's inspired by the legendary GTA San Andreas Multiplayer Cops & Robbers servers, but it isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mojang, Microsoft, Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
Are the police bots?
No. Every cop is a real player. There's no scripted police AI, so every chase is different.
What version do I need?
Java Edition 1.21.8. Nearby versions can join too, thanks to ViaVersion.
Is it free?
Joining is free. You start with $10,000 and pick a class in a menu the first time you join.
I'm new. What should I be?
Pickpocket if you want something simple, funny and risky. Police Officer if you'd rather play with a team. Not sure? Take the class quiz.
Can I change class?
Yes, at the Hospital NPC: $50,000, a 30 min cooldown, and not while you're wanted.
What happens if I die?
You pay a 3% death tax on your cash and bank (max $500,000), unless you carry Life Insurance, which blocks it once.
How do I make money?
It depends on your class. Everyone can also do holdups, deliveries, taxi driving, the daily lottery, money-bag hunts, fishing and the stock market. See the game systems for the details.
Can I get robbed while I'm offline?
Your bank is safe. Your house can be lockpicked or robbed while the owner is online.
Can I own a house?
Yes, on the house market (
/hmarket). You can also rent a single room in someone else's house.Where's the shop?

Do I need to memorise a lot of commands?
